Translating the secret language of birds

Tails Talk Birds began out of my long-time love of birds and curiosity to understand what the birds in my own backyard are saying.

I'm dedicated to creating meaningful birding experiences that bring us more insight, perspective and appreciation for the natural world around us.

Bring a prepared-for-you nature experience to your community: This Season: The Hummingbird

Enjoy 3 minute bird translations with me every Wednesday on YouTube.

Thanks so much for landing here and welcome to the flock!

This Season’s Experience

The Hummingbird Experience

The Hummingbird Experience is a complete 55–60-minute group program exploring the remarkable world of the Ruby-throated Hummingbird.

Together, your group will discover how a bird weighing little more than a penny can cross more than 500 miles of open water, remember when and where individual flowers will bloom, see colors beyond human vision, and communicate through sound, movement, and flashes of brilliant color.

The experience is informative, unhurried, and genuinely enjoyable—designed to inspire curiosity, conversation, and a shared appreciation for one extraordinary bird.

Everything Is Prepared for You

The Hummingbird Experience includes:

• A complete read-and-lead Facilitator Guide

• A fully written program script with clear pacing and timing guidance

• Support for mixed-ability and memory-care groups

• Links to authentic hummingbird sounds

• Optional ideas for adding more sights, sounds, and shared experiences

• A beautifully illustrated Participant Field Packet for each group member to use during the program and take home afterward
